Get a peak at the latest fashions, while supporting children's charities in the Palm Beach County area! Fashion 4 Charity, a black tie benefit of Palm Beach Illustrated Magazine, will be held on Wednesday, December 4 at the Ritz Carlton on Palm Beach. JDF is one of four benefiting children's charities. Ticket information is available by calling the chapter office.
Walk for the Cure 1997, a national walkathon held annually in cities throughout the world, is JDF's most successful fundraising event. The Greater Palm Beach County Chapter Walk for the Cure will be held at two sites: Saturday, March 1, 1997 at Meyer Amphitheater in downtown West Palm Beach, and Sunday March 2, 1997 in Boca Raton. Funds are raised through individuals, family teams, corporate teams and civic groups. Get your organization involved in the area's largest walkathon! It's fun, and for a worthwhile cause. Additional information on Walk for the Cure 97 is available through the chapter office.
Offer information, guidance, and support to adults and children with diabetes, and to parents of children with the disease. Free support group meetings, offered by diabetes centers and educators, are available throughout the Palm Beach County area. The JDF Support Group meets bi-monthly on the fourth Thursday of the month, 6:00-7:30 p.m., at the North County Regional Library in Palm Beach Gardens. The meeting includes information and research updates, group discussion, special interest topics such as nutrition, and guest speakers knowledgeable in the management and treatment of diabetes. JDF memberships are an excellent way to keep informed of the latest breakthroughs in diabetes treatment and technology. And your donation goes towards a good cause . . . to fund diabetes research! Included in your annual membership is Countdown magazine, JDF's informative, quarterly diabetes news magazine. To obtain your membership form, and/or to get your name on the Greater Palm Beach County chapter database to receive free newsletters on events and diabetes news in your area, please call the chapter office.
Now you can purchase your medications and supplies through the mail, and support diabetes research at the same time! Fifty 50 Pharmacy, a mail order supply and prescription drug source, donates one-half of all of its proceeds to JDF and diabetes research. All of your prescription needs are handled over the phone by courteous customer representatives, who even file insurance claims for you. Why leave the house again for pharmaceutical supplies?
